Large catalogs and grading times

Understand estimated completion ranges, credit holds, and concurrent capacity.

Updated Oct 1, 2026

Estimated completion

The catalog page shows an estimated time range based on the file. It is an estimate, not a deadline. Row count, PDF complexity, Amazon data availability, retries, and queued work can all change the finish time.

While a catalog grades, the catalog page shows the current stage and the progress available. A waiting-for-answers state needs your input. A queued run has been accepted and is waiting for our servers to pick it up; it is not grading rows yet.

Large files

Files are limited to 50 MB and catalogs to 50,000 rows. Split larger supplier lists into separate files with a header row in each. All selected files stay visible in the upload queue, where you review names and suppliers before upload.

PDFs need their table rebuilt before rows can be matched, so they take longer. For the cleanest starting point, ask your supplier for a CSV or Excel file when one is available.

Credits and concurrency

Uploading stores the file and starts grading, holding an estimate of the credits it needs; the hold can grow from your balance if the run needs more. Research refreshes for one product hold credits the same way.

Credits measure grading work. Each run shows what it may hold before it starts and what it used when it finishes. Amazon market data lookups never use credits. Each run holds an estimate when it starts and can grow that hold from your balance if it needs more; only the credits the run actually uses are kept, and the rest are released. See Billing, invoices, and subscription for how credits renew.

Larger price lists hold less per row than small ones, so a 10,000-credit balance starts a list of about 2,700 rows with its full hold. If your balance is below a list's full hold but covers at least half of it, grading still starts and holds your whole balance. Most lists finish within that. If one needs more, grading pauses with everything saved: add credits or choose a plan, then choose Continue grading. If your balance covers less than half, the catalog page shows what it needs to start and the largest list size your balance covers in full, in case you'd rather split the file.

The free trial and Standard include one catalog grading at a time; Pro includes three. Custom capacity is shown in Billing.

If every slot is in use when you upload, the file is stored but grading does not start, and the upload list tells you so. Stored catalogs never start by themselves. When a run finishes, open the stored catalog from Catalogs and choose Start grading. When you upload several files together, each one starts only if a slot and enough credits are free; the rest are stored for you to start later.

Leaving the page

A run works on the server and continues after you close the tab. Return to the catalog list for its status. Notification delivery depends on your notification settings and the configured notification service.

If progress stops, check the status and error before you try again. See Fix a failed or stalled catalog.
