A graded catalog can hold thousands of listings. Filters and rules are how you cut it down to the handful worth buying. Everything you set is captured in the page URL, so the exact view you build can be bookmarked or shared.
Status filters
The segmented control above the table splits the catalog into views:
| Filter | What it shows |
|---|---|
| All matches | Every graded listing except no matches |
| Profitable | Matched listings that clear your profitability bar |
| Match | Confident matches |
| Maybe | Possible matches that need a human look |
| No match | Products we couldn't match to a listing |
| Saved | Listings you've saved for later |
All matches leaves out no matches so the default view isn't cluttered with products you can't act on. Switch to No match when you want to see them. Each filter shows a live count, and the search box finds listings by title, ASIN, brand, SKU or UPC.
Open the Rules rail
Select Rules in the toolbar, or press Shift+R (it works from the table, a slider or a button; never while you are typing). On a wide screen Rules opens beside the table, in the same place a product opens. The table keeps your columns, their order and their widths, and scrolls sideways; a scrollbar stays at the bottom of the screen. On a smaller screen it opens as a panel from the right.
- Opening a product while Rules is open puts Rules aside; close the product and Rules comes back.
- Opening Rules while a product is open puts the product aside; close Rules and the product comes back.
- Select a rule's chip above the table to open Rules on that rule.
- Press Esc to close Rules. Your rules stay applied.
The top of the rail says how many listings pass your rules right now, for example "18 of 29 listings pass".
Sliders
Every number rule is a slider with Any at its loose end. Any means no rule.
- Drag and the count at the top of the rail moves with you. The filled part of the track runs from the handle to the side that passes. The table updates once, when you let go.
- Arrow keys step one value at a time; Home and End jump to the ends. The table updates a moment after your last key press.
- Type an exact value: select the Min or Max box beside the rule, type a number, and press Enter. Esc puts the old value back. An empty box means Any.
- × clears that one rule.
Under each slider a line says where this list's values run (for example "This list: −$0.33 to $17.89") or, once the rule is set, how many listings it hides. Listings with no data are counted once at the top of their section, for example "66 listings have no cost yet."
What the rules test
Rules test the prices your View shows. Change the pricing period or listing type and every money rule follows.
| Rule | Passes when | A listing with no data |
|---|---|---|
| Net profit per listing | Profit is at least the value | is hidden |
| ROI | Return on investment is at least the value | is hidden |
| Margin | Margin is at least the value | is hidden |
| FBA sellers | Buy Box eligible FBA offers are at most the value | stays |
| Exclude Amazon on the listing | Amazon neither sells on the listing nor holds the Buy Box | stays |
| Sales rank | Sales rank is at most the value (lower sells faster) | stays |
| Rank drops in 30 days | Rank drops are at least the value (each drop is usually a sale) | stays |
| Highest risk | The listing's risk tier is at or under your ceiling | not applicable |
| Exclude hazmat | Amazon doesn't mark the product as hazardous | stays |
| Exclude IP risk brands | You haven't marked the brand as an IP risk | stays |
| Pack size | The listing's pack size is at least the value | stays |
| Pack check | The pack size has no open question, or is confirmed | not applicable |
A listing with no cost has no profit, ROI or margin, so money rules hide it until you add the cost.
Some details:
- Highest risk: every listing has a risk tier, low, medium or high, shown in the table's Risk column. Hazmat, Amazon selling on the listing, and brands you marked as an IP risk or one to avoid raise it. Choose Not high or Low only; hover a tier in the table to see what raised it.
- Exclude hazmat works once the Amazon data includes hazmat details. If no listing has them yet, the rail says so and offers Refresh Amazon data (see Refresh Amazon data).
- Exclude IP risk brands hides brands you marked as an IP risk. See Brand approval. The rail says how many brands you have marked.
- Pack check: No questions hides listings with an open pack question; Confirmed keeps only listings whose pack size is confirmed.
Rules never judge No match products: they stay in the No match view whatever your rules.
Presets
The list at the top of the rail holds presets:
- Built in: Conservative buy, Aggressive buy, and Show everything (no rules).
- Yours: rule sets you saved. They show in every catalog in your workspace.
- Shared by your team: rule sets your teammates shared.
Pick a preset to apply its rules. Change a rule after that and the preset reads Edited; select Revert to put its rules back. To keep your changes, select Save rules (your own presets) or Save as preset (to save a new one; built-in and teammates' presets are never changed). Your own presets can be renamed or deleted from the ⋯ menu; deleting a preset leaves your current rules as they are.
The pricing view
The View menu sets the basis for all the profitability math, rules included:
- Pricing period: Current, 30-day, 90-day or 180-day average
- Listing type: Buy Box, or FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant)
Why you'd grade on an average rather than today's price is covered in Fees, net profit, ROI, and margin.
Shareable views
Everything above (status filter, search, rules, pricing period, listing type, even the open product) lives in the page URL. That means:
- Reload-proof. Refresh the page and you're exactly where you were.
- Bookmarkable. Save "90-day average, ROI at least 30%, at most 5 FBA sellers" as a browser bookmark and reopen it on any catalog review.
- Shareable. Copy the URL and send it to a teammate in your workspace. They open the same catalog with the same filters and see what you see.
Column layout and density are personal preferences saved to your browser, not the URL. See Read the results table.
